I think "raising them black" would be even more harmful than just raising them. What does raising them black even mean? Learning about your heritage is one thing, but raising a child white/black/asian/whatever, is teaching them they are different because of their race. You should act like this because you're that. It teaches them that others should be treated differently and should be acting a certain way based on race. Raise your kids as Americans, as good people who don't expect any specific race to act a specific way. Being proud of your skin color isn't important. Be proud of who you are, how you treat others and what you stand for. If they were black parents not raising their adopted white children "white", they'd have a gofundme page in support. But this poor woman just raising her kids to be overall good humans is some kind of asshole

Those children should be raised American BUT know their heritage and culture. And I feel sorry for those people that don't "see color" because they miss out on the beautiful things cultures other than there own have to offer.

what will she tell them when someone calls them Niggers and they come home and tell her what is a Nigger

i want. to thank her for what she doing because those kids need a home and someone to love them my kids white and black and they are doing good one 30 and 26 it something i want tell people if you put all colors of kids in a sandy box they play together it comes a problem when we make it a problem it's to move on with pass we are all God kids for the record i would do the same for a kid and i am black man stop judging and help out

we know. She raised them to pay her mortgage with the adoption subsidy.

Complete set up for failure. They will be lost, and confused little girls. Why not raise them to be proud of their skin color,?? Teaching Black pride will not be teaching those children to hate white people and that is your fear. Get over it and teach these girls self esteem and yes being proud of your race is one aspect of self esteem!!!

You will be sorry that you didn't.

sounds to me she is aiming to not see color. Isn't racism judging by skin color or religion and causing unneeded hate. This women comes across misunderstood. She is a loving mom with 2 children that are being raised to know they are different because of their person, not because of the skin tone. She trying to shed light with true anti-racism , they are thriving children being loved. I feel mom is being misunderstood, bigtime.

Why would fine upstanding white people even want to raise black monkey children anyways? 🤔

Good. Maybe they won’t act like idiots.

the original definition of American says copper colored races found here by Europeans.......she's already American......

The color black was made through the white hierarchy through the transatlantic slavery era. They made the color black look ugly and peculiar to the outside world. They held the power to do this during this Jim Crow Era. At one time in history black folk ruled the universe. This part of history was called the Golden Age.

Ummmm teach them to know whi they are and to love themselves. She lives in a cartoonish reality to believe this!

iI understand how this family feels because I have a mixed race family! But when u think about it, we r all mixed with some race. No one is of any lure origin anymore if they trace their family history!!. As far as raising the children as white or black, that is absurd. In today's society children learn to adapt to the environment they are in and taught. They may listen to parents go with the way their parents taught them. Or they may go against the way their parents taught them when they get to be adults themselves. But their parents Will still love them as their child no matter what race they r or what race they proclaim to be in society.

This is what white supremacy and black and Inferiority Looks like. She can't teach them what she doesn't know. They are African Queens.

I don’t consider my self black I’m a American look up the meaning of the word and you will stop using it

If you don't prepare those kids for what's about to come... Some cop, loan officer, classmate, lady clutching her purse, neighbor, teacher will.

Oh well good luck because she is free to live her life the way she wants, thanks for adopting her but she is a free human being....

She was already black you don't raise somebody to be black you're born black

Poor kids. They are in for a world of hurt.

She can't teach blackness, because black is a color. Not a culture.

They couldve adopted from their own race for that. But the system will give our children to them quick fast.

I'm a transracial adoptive mother and the White family has failed their daughters.

They are in for a rude awakening. Society will teach them who they are based on looks.

If one has not adopted they really shouldn't be judging this woman. Love and acceptance is what is needed.

I think they adopt us , like you would a pet from the animal shelter.... we are like pets for them to show off

I can raise a cat amongst dogs. That do not mean that cat will bark.

The first issue is a white person thinking they can “raise” a kid to be a certain “color.”It’s like she feels that being Black is optional. Umm...That’s like saying, “I didn’t raise her to be Mexican.” If she’s of Mexican heritage, what else would she “be.”

Sorry, You can't Whitewash the Black off

🙄🤦🏾♀️ This is why there needs to be a deeper vetting of candidates who adopt children outside their race love, shelter and clothing are not all that is needed...this is mental abuse!!

The world will certainly teach them that they are very black

She’s done them a Great disservice. When they hit the real world it shole will let them know they are black. Hope the shock isn’t to overwhelming.

First, where are her children from? Africa is a big place and comprised of 54 countries and hundreds of ethnic groups. Her insistence on raising her children as part of the "human" race is an insistence on a whiteness that erases her children's biological family and heritage.
