Safety, security upgrades focus of school bond elections
Daily Oklahoman - 02-11
Voters on Tuesday will consider school bond issues in Edmond and Norman that will pay for new schools, storm shelters and security upgrades if approved. The Edmond proposal would keep the property tax at its current level while Norman's would raise the tax by about $44 on a house valued at about $100,000, officials said. Edmond Public Schools is seeking passage of a $93 million bond issue that would fund construction of two new elementary schools and classroom additions that would double as shelters at several schools.
