Loudon man accused of breaking into home, assaulting woman

A Loudon man accused of breaking into a residence in town and attempting to assault a woman while she slept is being held without bail. Michael Peacan, 25, faces a felony count of burglary and misdemeanor charges of simple assault and criminal mischief in connection with the break-in reported on Redwood Road Wednesday at approximately 12:40 a.m. He was arraigned Thursday afternoon in Merrimack County Superior Court in Concord, where Judge Richard McNamara ordered him detained at the county jail pending a further evidentiary hearing next week.
