BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) - The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has been conducting DNA testing on mountain lions harvested during the regular hunting season. The findings are a bit of a surprise. Game Furbearer Biologist Stephanie Tucker says over the past couple of years, there have been "more than a normal number of the mountain lions" taken by hunters in Zone 2, which covers most of the state outside traditional lion country in western North Dakota, and by a number of confirmed mountain lion sightings in central and eastern parts of the state.
