Killer pleads guilty to manslaughter

A 31-year-old from Lake Charles who killed a Houma man during an argument in late 2016 pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter. Jordan Cooks was booked into the Terrebonne Parish jail on New Year’s Day 2017 after police charged him in the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Dondre Turner. The shooting occurred that New Year's Eve in a Schriever parking lot during what investigators said was a drug deal.
