Gov. Tony Evers has declared a state of emergency after a strong line of thunderstorms left a trail of damage across Wisconsin. More than 33,000 people were without power at one point Saturday and the high winds knocked down trees and several barns. Polk County was hit especially hard, with winds in excess of 84 mph, accompanied by heavy rain, which Sheriff Brent Waak said impacted Cushing, Frederic, Luck, Milltown, Centuria, Balsam Lake, Clayton and Turtle Lake.
