Law enforcement officers shoot armed, suicidal man in southern Oregon

A man was shot and killed Thursday night after law enforcement officers arrived to a call about a suicidal man with a handgun, according to the Medford Police Department. Three Oregon State Police troopers and two Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the call. The first trooper arrived on the scene at 8:46 p.m., the department news release said. The officers saw the armed man on Rogue River Highway, underneath Interstate 5 near exit 45A, police said.
