Southwest Virginia doctor and wife enter Alford pleas in prescription fraud case - 07-19


WISE, Va. — A Southwest Virginia doctor and his wife face hundreds of years in prison in a prescription fraud case. Dr. Michael Ford and his wife, Una Faye Ford, both pleaded entered an Alford plea to seven counts of prescription fraud, seven counts of Medicaid fraud, and distribution of a schedule II drug in a Wise County courtroom Friday, according to Commonwealth's Attorney Chuck Slemp. An Alford plea means the Fords did not admit guilt but acknowledged there was enough evidence to convict them.
