PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Distracted driving and speed are believed to be factors in a head-on crash that killed one person and hurt 2 others in Klamath County. The crash between a Jeep Liberty and a Dodge Ram towing a travel trailer happened on Hwy 97 near milepost 197 Thursday, the Oregon State Police said. Investigators said the driver of the Jeep drifted onto the shoulder, overcorrected and slammed head-on into the Dodge Ram.
User from OR: Seriously phones should not be able to send and receive texts while the phone is moving. Simple!
HAGALAZ ⚡⚡: Phones kill more people each yr than guns yet I don't hear any liberal politicians coming up with stricter cell ph laws ,probably because they drive around complaining about guns.
User from OR: It’s not just texting. People use them for driving directions too. Our new truck asks if you are the driver or passenger before using GPS. So easy to bypass. Cell phones should automatically disable when driving. However, it comes down to the responsibility of the driver, PERIOD!!!
Michelle Kiddhalbert: something very important is for people to know how to drive correctly, if this young man had been taught right he would have known how to not over correct,
