Berenda Elementary School in Madera was packed with more than 200 people Thursday for a community meeting with the California High-Speed Rail Authority. Many residents said they were fed up with the project that they say, is taking longer than promised. The project has closed Road 27 for three years as high-speed rail crews build an overpass. Thousands of drivers have to use Road 26 instead, causing a traffic nightmare.
