Two of Maine’s top three dispensers of opioid painkillers were pharmacies in Bangor between 2006 and 2012. During those early days of the state’s burgeoning opioid crisis, those pharmacies provided millions of the pills produced by out-of-state companies that doctors had prescribed to their patients.
Pamela J. Alsop: this has got to be total bullshit. doctors in Maine are not allowed to prescribe over a certain dosage, contracts must be signed, random pill counts & urine screen.... I know, I'm in agony 24/7 because of that idiot republican french governor we were stuck with forever. Hope he ends up in pain like many ppl, & can't get a decent dose & he suffers as we do. He ruined the rest if my life & many other ppl. His big opiate plan backfired, now the streets are full of REALLY dangerous drugs. the jails are overcrowded & pharmacies robbed at an alarming rate. good goin LePage. 🙄
