A driver who failed to pay child support was arrested after a traffic stop at a busy intersection at Colony Plaza in The Villages. Austin Zachary McDaniel, 25, of Leesburg, at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday was driving a GMC Sierra pickup heading east on County Road 466A when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy ran his license plate and discovered the truck’s registered owner had a license that was suspended for failure to pay child support. He was pulled over at County Road 466A and Sembler Way.

I don’t know how he was arrested for driving on a suspended license because Florida Statutes states that drive must have knowledge. The driver stated that he didn’t know and that is possible... One way is if the Deputy could prove that the drivers received suspension by certified mail and I doubt it. The Law is the Law and Fair is Fair!
