Gov. Greg Abbott Urges Texas DAs Against Dropping Misdemeanor Marijuana Possession Cases

NBC Dallas-Fort Worth - 07-18

Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot fired back at Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Thursday saying he won't prosecute people without evidence of their guilt after the governor sent a letter to all Texas district and county attorneys earlier in the day urging them to "uphold their oath and faithfully execute the law" when it comes to prosecuting marijuana cases.

User from TX: Yeah waste money that could be use to fund something more useful like healthcare or public transportation

Meloney Trim: I think we should legalize marijuana for both reason

Michael Miller: weed isn't a drug, I swear, if I had any hair left it would fall out reading comments like yours. no wonder we are going to be stuck with Trump for another 4 years, the majority of small town, hickville USA probably thinks the same way you do

Texas Rising: Damn, Looks like this Republican Millenial will not vote for you again.

Ashford Ayres: just legalize God's plant already! weed grows from the ground it's a natural drug damn!!

Gregg Abbott is going to lose his footing (no puns intended) if he continues this path. The only thing holding him right now is the Democratic party is just the worst it's ever been and the Republicans are very united at this time. But, there is only about 5 people in Texas that are preventing progress

i think it is funny that people see marijuana as this bad drug when it is less mind altering then alcohol its only people who have no idea what they are talkin about who have a problem with it i say dont knock it till u try it at least 3 or 4 times wake up Greg Abbott u need to get on board or texans will not re-elect you if your not first your last lifes a garden dig it

I support our Governor's decision whole heartedly simply because I don't want our State to become a zonked out pos State. Those who want to time can go live in the states that do. On the other hand, I do support CBD oil for ppl who have to suffer due to illnesses and pain. Besides, there are many ppl here that sit around and stay stoned out of their minds everyday. God meant for us to be sober minded!! That's God's law!!

Gotta get that revenue off the tax cattle. Yet alcohol is way worse and the cops in Texas and it’s system is so corrupt that he ignores these things.

I'm not going to legalize marijuana in the state of Texas because they're getting paid not to from the states that are getting all the billions of dollars for illegal use of marijuana and everyone sitting around talking about weed heads and their Grandpa's in the granddaddy and making alcohol and drinking alcohol and selling alcohol on the liquor store and diamond in bingo houses across the state of Texas so many years to shut their mouth of the don't know what to talk about in all these redneck blind making this methamphetamine and then I want to criticize anybody else or doing anything check self first let's do a self-check own fault. I'm looking at someone else is trying to criticize about what they should do and not do for the good of everyone let's think about everyone as a whole or weeks are criticizing anyone else and that's what I think about the marijuana alcohol rednecks and liberals and not livers and. have a blessed day everyone.
