New Commissioner of State Department of Education nominated by Gov. Lamont after rescinding nomination of first candidate - 30 days ago


HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The position of Commissioner of Education was the last role in Governor Lamont’s administration to be filled, which is facing some controversy. On July 8, 2019 a letter from Paul Mounds, the Chief Operating Officer for Governor Lamont, nominated Dr. James Thompson, the superintendent of Bloomfield Public Schools, for the role of Commissioner of the State Department of Education.
