RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A public school system in Richmond, Virginia, says starting next school year, they’ll no longer require educators to take a drug test before being allowed to teach.

Stacy Wacy: We have a drug problem going on and they decide to stop drug testing workers? That should be standard for most jobs.

Angela Copeland: You guys forget that a lot of people use marijuana for medical purposes. Since VA hasn't legalized it yet, maybe we're missing out on a lot of potential wonderful teachers for our state to benefit our kids?

James Meachum: pure stupidity anyone having anything to do with children should be tested randomly regardless of the cost is our children not worth it

Melissa Hupman: wtf is wrong with this world?

User from VA: I need to get out this state forreal!

There is a mass shortage of teachers in this country. Any suggestions on how to attract potential educators from the private sector?

what rocket scientist decided this was a good idea? As if we don't already have issues with teachers and sexual misconduct we can now have a functioning drug addict teaching the class and what's to stop them using at school.. for some kids school is there safe place now we're willing to risk that. Every person involved in this decision should be fired immediately no excuses.
