Bryan Ruiz’s hands were still shaking an hour after he learned the $300,000 in medical school loans he took out to become a dentist were being wiped away by California taxpayers.

Yuma Joy: California isn't paying shit. Taxpayers are. Too bad every politician couldn't be fired...and replaced by people who actually care about people and not just the money

FlyNevada: increasing payments is increasing socialism, one more step towards medicare for all

dyango: The solution is to increase the payment for services rendered to medical and dentical patients.Paying student loans is a good thing but it will not solve the problem.

Mark the Shark: Pre-med students are smart. They realize that the medical profession does not pay enough, so they switch majors and go to law school where the real money is made.

User from CA: Cali needs to focus on get doctors not in getting more ilegal immigrants.

we should be paying for free education not student debt, if we were to pay for free education, we wouldn't be paying for student debt, WTF

This will not help enough. With 30% Medical practice, and 50% being paid in Federal and state income taxes, only 20% of a doctor’s earning will go to him. California will be much better off expanding autonomy to nurse practitioners.
