Hubbard names new police chief

HUBBARD — With police Chief James Taafe retiring at the end of the year, Sgt. Robert Thompson will be stepping into the role. Taafe began serving Hubbard as a patrol officer in 1984, was promoted to sergeant in 1992, then detective in 2006 and has been the chief of police since 2011.
