SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WTHR) - A police officer involved in a deadly shooting last month in South Bend has resigned. South Bend Police Sgt. Ryan O'Neill resigned Monday because of job-related stress, national media attention and hateful social media comments, according to the South Bend Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 36. O'Neill shot and killed 54-year-old Eric Logan on June 16, an incident that put a spotlight on South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg during his campaign for the Democratic nomination for president.
