SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – A 24-year-old convicted of murdering a Santa Fe County family with a pick-ax when he was 16 wants to be sentenced as a juvenile. A jury found Nicholas Ortiz guilty of killing Dixie, Lloyd, and Steven Ortiz—no relation to him—during a botched burglary at their El Rancho home in 2011. That trial was in 2016, but after a lot of legal back-and-forth, Ortiz has still not been sentenced.

Josh Groseclose: he knew he was doing wrong, and knew the consequences as well.

Rhonda L. Law: all I say is NO WAY. Let him SUFFER.

Kevin Sowards: let him rot

User from NM: Sentence him to death

noah Nelson: sorry charlie. young adults cry to be treated with respect and acknowledge they are adults. so why not pay for your crime as an adult

do you imagine killing some0ne with a pick ax.a good friend of mine said that after it was all over a month later they found teeth under the stove. I couldn't even see a dog mushed like that. the family tried to help him until they thought he was robbing them and told him to leave. he killed them for a change jar. so he could not use for life but party

Tougher penalties are needed in this state! The crime is out off control and these "entitled" kids are a huge source of the problem.
