NOW: UA regents meet to declare financial crisis

Update 2:41 p.m.: Regents have voted to postpone consideration of financial exigency until their July 30 meeting. The University of Alaska Board of Regents is meeting now to hear a prepared declaration of financial exigency from President Jim Johnsen, the result of Gov. Mike Dunleavy’s slashing of more than $130 million from the university in operating budget vetoes.
