NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Governor Bill Lee said he will work to change a 1970s law forcing all governors to issue a proclamation honoring Nathan Bedford Forrest. Lee released a statement on Twitter Monday saying:

Joshua Parker: wtf its history leave it alone

Choco Taurus: WTF is wrong with you Bill

Ronnie Amans: Another Republican, cowering down to the far left cry babies that don't want to get their feelings hurt!

Randy Eddington: looks like we put the wrong one in office again, it's history leave it the fuck alone.

User from TN: Just because it’s history doesn’t mean we have to celebrate it. We don’t need to erase our past but we also don’t need to lift up KKK members as an example of what Tennessee is today

I guess the Indians will just have to watch all the foreigners take their land and too bad if they/we don't like it. After the civil war when blacks were freed, then they should've been put on a boat and sent back to their country Africa. maybe they'd have been happier there, bc it's obvious they're not happy in America!!!

I can sort of see why people are against Forest. the whole KKK thing is an issue. Robert E Lee never owned slaves and was against slavery. No reason to put them in the same category
