BELOIT – The hot, dry weekend weather was just what farmers needed to finish wheat harvest as area elevators are reporting being 80-90 percent completed. According to theNational Weather Service, those hot temperatures will continue throughout this week with highs near 100 degrees. Tuesday is forecast to reach an heat index of 101 with 20 mph winds. Wednesday the wind is expected to reach wind gusts as high as 30 mph. Thursday and Friday is forecast to be near 100 degrees. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms returns for Saturday's forecast. A Hazardous Weather Outlook is issued for tonight (Monday) for Phillips, Smith, Jewell, Rooks, Osborne and Mitchell counties as minor flooding could occur through the Nebraska coverage area along portions of Wood River in Hall County.
