West Virginia State Police issue warning about email scam

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WOWK) – The West Virginia State Police has issued a warning about an email scam of someone pretending to be with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations Division of the West Virginia State Police. The emails say there is an active investigation against you and demand money in exchange for not submitting evidence from the case to the West Virginia State Police Forensic Lab for testing. The email states that if you do not pay, WVSP will move forward with the investigation against you.

Lisa Bleifus: i have received the calls , but I asked him what contry he was calling from. America if the Police or any agency of Law has Evidence against he I would get arrested not get a phone call Warning me.

had it happen to me, however they don't fool me because I've been in trouble with the law before and I understand the way they operate.. if it was actually legit they wouldn't be demanding a payment
