Jefferson County sheriff announces new inmate reentry program

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. — Jefferson County Sheriff Mark Pettway on Monday announced a new inmate reentry program. Pettway and several community partners, including Lawson State Community College, The Dannon Project and The Steel Workers Trust, unveiled the Renewed for Reentry program designed to reduce the recidivism rate by providing education and job opportunities for inmates currently in the county jail.

Tamiko Conner: yes, cause ppl needs a second chance at life, we all my mistakes an wrong decision.. But if some ppl have somebody or program bagging them they tend to press in the right direction, but alot of ppl don't have that an they go back to what they know...An om part of the Dannon Project an it's great an they do help u....
