A man remained hospitalized in stable condition this morning after being shot by police during a weekend chase through three north Alabama counties, authorities said. The man, whose names hasn’t been released, was shot by Albertville police officers on Sunday evening. Chief Jamie Smith said the man tried to crash a vehicle into the officers, who fired multiple rounds, wounding the man.
Ron Kent: Officers firing in a vehicle is unacceptable. What if there was a child on board in the back seat and the officers could not see them. I understand the officers needed to get him stopped but they should have found a better way then slinging lead. The officers today sure can make idiot decisions when under pressure. JS
cool kid blog's: Some departments do not allow high speed chases unless it's a dangerous criminal. Why not shoot out tires instead of accidently killing an innocent person?
Kadono Qlim: What if the car was stolen & a child were in it? Let the spike strips do what they are meant to do.
memvp: I Havnt heard of a car keeps driving after it hits those spike strips those things shred your tires down completely gone too the tire rims.
steven bouldin: news article said that his hands was up when he was shot. that the vehicle had already came to a stop
