U.S. Senator Dick Durbin has been calling for major league baseball teams to extend their safety netting to protect fans from being hit by fast-moving foul balls. And the Chicago White Sox are listening. The Sox are taking the nets out to the foul poles on the first and third base lines of Guaranteed Rate Field, becoming the first major league team to do so. Several Sox fans have been struck and injured by foul balls in recent years.
