The Drowsy Chaperone’ nonstop fun: Riverbend Theatre presents award-winning musical

Telegraph - 07-10

ALTON – Uplifting music can bring you out of even the most doleful moods, triggering endorphines and making you happier, in general. “The Drowsy Chaperone,” presented by Riverbend Theatre July 19-21, has an award-winning musical score that fits the bill of uplifting music, as it lightens the mood, and adds to the show’s gimmicks and gags. Or so it seems to the “Man in Chair (played by Jayson Heil),” who opens the show, sitting in his apartment, seeking a cure of rhis “non-specific sadness.”
