The majority of the Monday cable ratings stood in the shadow of the Home Run Derby. ESPN’s broadcast of the event brought in a 1.8 rating in adults 18-49, demolishing any competition the night presented. That being said, it did not tower over the rest of the chart quite the way it did last year, when the broadcast stood at a massive 2.6. The “Home Run Derby Prelude” on the same channel was a force to be reckoned with in its own right, scoring its own 1.0, though this was also down from last year’s 1.2. Finally, in the third slot, “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” had a strong night on VH1, rising from 0.7 to 0.9.
