The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session. The only action item on the agenda was regarding a Community Attraction and Tourism (CAT) Grant for the City of West Des Moines. The City is acquiring funds to build the $33.5 million MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex, and requested money from the County to help them acquire grants from the State. The Board had initially promised $50,000 to the project, contingent upon the City receiving a $1 million grant from the Enhance Iowa Board. However, the Board awarded the project $500,000, so the Supervisors lowered their contribution proportionately, approving a one-time grant of $25,000 to West Des Moines.
