NEWTON COUNTY (CBS46) -- A grieving community gathered Sunday evening to remember a man killed in what witnesses call an attack fueled by jealousy and race. Investigators say 20-year-old Kevin Marshall, who was autistic, was beaten and then run over by Joshua Anderson after a July 4th celebration on Northlake Drive in Covington.
Todd Orr: It's definitely a tragedy. And yes, if convicted, he deserves the needle. I don't think it's a hate crime. Before everyone gets twisted, I'm not taking up for the thug! I just don't see race being the issue. A stupid POS trash doing what he did!
Sheila Webb: I agree, a pure evil act. Just heartbreaking
Dana L Harris: I agree with the victim's mother. It was a HATE crime which was fueled by racism. NOTHING MORE & NOTHING LESS!!! Catch that PUNK & give him the DEATH penalty. Somebody is helping him hide and whomever it is should get some SERIOUS prison time!!!!! The MURDERER never would've did what he did to a full grown man.He knew the victim was a friend of his girlfriend's family. A PUNK.like him will MURDER his girlfriend and commit SUICIDE rather than face a trial. My prayers and condolences go out to the victim's family😞😞😞
Lakiya Brown: catch the coward.
