Universal health care is not a matter of economics

Uwe Reinhardt, a professor of political economics at Princeton University for years, is credited with developing much of the thinking regarding the pros and cons of single payer systems. He left a simple message for us all to ponder: “The issue of universal health care is not a matter of economics! Little more than 1 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) spent on health would cover everyone from birth to death.”
