What do you name a proposed long-range trail that would link Jacksonville with Ashland through the dry forested hills of Southern Oregon? The Jack-Ash Trail, of course. Five miles of the 40-mile route have already been opened across Anderson Butte. From April to June the meadowed slopes here are full of wildflowers. Sample the route with a three-mile loop that takes you to a panoramic viewpoint atop Anderson Butte’s old lookout site.
