Man found guilty of first-degree murder in 2017 death of OHP trooper

NORMAN, Okla. — A man accused of causing a crash that killed an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper in the summer of 2017 is guilty offirst-degree murder, a jury decided Monday. D'Angelo Burgess, 29, was convicted in the death of Lt. Heath Meyer, who was hit by a law enforcement vehicle pursuing Burgess on the night of July 21, 2017. Meyer was taken to OU Medical Center, where he died three days later.
