United Way of Central Texas offers free tax assistance in Bell County

TEMPLE, Texas — The United Way of Central Texas is offering help in the Bell County this tax season. Their annual Volunteer Tax Assistance program, known as VITA, is designed to help households that make $55,000 or less a year. If you qualify, you could get your taxes done free of charge.

BELTON — A Bell County jury voted to remove Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown from office Wednesday. The jury agreed unanimously on 16 of 17 issues to remove Brown, D-Killeen. Only 10 of the 12 members were required to agree on any of the issues to bring her removal from office.
