NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A Tennessee bill that would ban abortions after the fetal heartbeat is moving forward after passing in committee Wednesday. The bill's sponsor, Rep. Van Huss, says a heartbeat is typically detectable at about six weeks into pregnancy.
