BAY TERRACE, QUEENS — A Bay Terrace restaurant was closed by the state tax department for failing to pay nearly $300,000 in taxes. The NYS Department of Taxation and Finance on Wednesday seized Allora Italian Kitchen & Bar for an unpaid tax bill of $299,986.41 dating back to 2017, according to a spokesperson for the agency. The business had three open tax warrants, two of which were for unpaid sales taxes, the spokesperson said.
