GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The leader of a massive drug ring was sentenced for sending cocaine and heroin to Michigan and several other states, U.S. Attorney Andrew Birge said. Alex Alberto Castro was sentenced to 42 years in prison for conspiring to distribute heroin and cocaine. Officials said he was the leader of a drug conspiracy that began in 2013 and continued until all 20 people involved had been arrested in 2017.
