Belvidere man’s death an apparent suicide, coroner says

ROCKFORD — A Belvidere man who died Tuesday suffered what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, the Winnebago County coroner said Wednesday. The 85-year-old man’s death is an apparent suicide, Coroner Bill Hintz said.
