Columbia County parents to learn about rezoning plans at meeting
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) - Happening Thursday night, Columbia County parents are invited to learn more about the school district's rezoning plans. Columbia County Board of Education met last month to talk rezoning, originally planning to move elementary and high school-aged students.

The Richmond County Coroner's Office, Sheriff's Office and the Augusta Fire Department are investigating a fire that left one person dead. According to Coroner Mark Bowen, Hubert Lee Bailey, 77, died in a fire on the 2000 block of Ellis Street. Bailey was pronounced dead at 5:50 a.m.
