Tony Moreno, the Middletown man who threw his son off the Arrigoni Bridge, asks state Supreme Court for new trial
A lawyer for Tony Moreno, the Middletown man who was convicted of killing his infant son in 2015, argued in front of the state’s highest court Thursday that his client deserves a new trial because he was medicated and not in the right frame of mind when police questioned him in his hospital bed.

New York Fugitive Captured In Middletown: PD
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Queens man wanted in New York for aggravated unlicensed operator in the first degree was arrested in Middletown as a wanted fugitive, according to police. Police made the arrest Jan. 15 on the extraditable offense. King Burden, 36, was held in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Health officials: 8 people in CT have died from the flu
HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -- The state’s Dept. of Public Health said there have now been eight deaths related to the flu. According to numbers released on Thursday, of the eight people who have died, five of them were over the age of 65, two were between 50 and 64, and another was between 25 and 49.
