Former Northwest Christian University track athlete accused of rape takes plea deal on lesser charges
Register-Guard - 05-21
A former Northwest Christian University track athlete arrested for rape last year has taken a plea deal from Lane County prosecutors. Dominic Cantu, 20, of Eugene, was sentenced Monday to 30 days in jail on each of two charges of coercion and sexual harassment. The first-degree rape charge, which would have given him an eight-year, four-month mandatory minimum sentence because of its Measure 11 classification, was dropped as a result of the deal, and the other charges were filed.
