On Friday, March 8, 2019, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a male victim and female associate arrived at a residence in the 1400 block of South First Street in Turlock. Shortly, thereafter, a vehicle occupied by Thomas McAbee, a 21 year old male from Ceres, and Luiz Martinez, a 21 year old male from Turlock, arrived in the driveway to visit the same residence. McAbee and Martinez confronted the male victim in front of the residence and challenged him to fight. The victim began to leave the parking lot in his vehicle. It is believed that both McAbee and Martinez were responsible for firing a gun at the victim as he attempted to leave. The motive for the shooting is believed to be due to the victim’s gang member status. On Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Luiz Martinez was located and arrested for attempted murder for the shooting. He was booked in the Stanislaus County Jail with additional allegations of participation in a criminal street gang and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. A Ramey Warrant of Arrest has been issued for Thomas McAbee on the charge of attempted murder, as well as additional charges for participation in a criminal street gang and the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. McAbee should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach or contact McAbee, call 9-1-1.
