LAKE COUNTY — Lake County voters will be using a new voting system at the polls in upcoming elections as soon as May 7. The Lake County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase Tuesday of a touch-screen vote counting machine from Hart InterCivic, Inc., an Austin, Texas-based elections company. Hart’s “Verity” ballot marking equipment will replace Lake County’s current voting system, which was acquired in 1983.
