San Jose: Man, 64, killed when car crashes into tree

SAN JOSE — A 64-year-old man was killed early Thursday in a solo vehicle crash, the city’s 11th traffic-related fatality of 2019, according to police. At 1:36 a.m., San Jose police responded to the intersection of Curtner and New Jersey avenues after receiving a report of a car crashing into a tree. Based on a preliminary investigation, the driver was travelling west on Curtner in a 2003 Mercedes-Benz when he lost control and crashed into a tree.
