Chicken-killing Newcastle disease prompts euthanasia orders for parts of Chino

Mandatory euthanasia for poultry because of the deadly Newcastle virus has been expanded to parts of Chino, according to the state Department of Food and Agriculture. The announcement brings to 15 the number of cities and communities in the Inland Empire and Los Angeles County with mandatory euthanasia orders because of the disease, which is deadly for birds but poses little threat to humans.
