Female jail quarters remain overcrowded in Sebastian County
Southwest Times Record - 03-21
Though some complaints from its inmates are unfounded, overcrowding remains a concern in the women's quarters of the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center, authorities say. Officials say the "CD" female pod in the Detention Center frequently exceeds its 48-bed count, sometimes by up to 35 percent more than capacity. Sheriff's Maj. John Miller said overcrowding is "generally worse" for women in the jail because they have only have 72 female beds.
