Tonto National Monument offers bird walks

ROOSEVELT — Learn about the wide variety of birds found at Tonto National Monument, including the Gila Woodpecker and the Turkey Vulture. From March 13 through April 17, ranger-led bird walks will be held on Wednesday mornings from 9-11 a.m. Bird walks will begin at the Tonto National Monument Visitor Center. Park admission is $10 per person unless visitors have an Interagency Annual, Military, Senior, 4th Grader, or Access Pass. There is no additional cost to attend the bird walks and reservations are not required.
