Deputy almost struck in vehicle chase in Frederick County
Frederick News-Post - 05-14
A man was arrested Saturday after nearly striking a Frederick County Sheriff's Office deputy during a vehicle chase on Friday, according to court records. The pursuit began at 11:45 p.m. Friday when Deputy 1st Class Nathan Rector noticed a man wearing a cowboy hat "moving around and being loud" in the parking lot of the Sheetz gas station at 1300 E. Patrick St., according to charging documents filed in county district court. Rector followed the man after watching him enter a silver 1999 Lincoln Navigator and leave the area, but the man did not appear to be impaired or have trouble driving. Rector was about to stop following the Navigator when it swerved and took off at high speed.
