After the federal government shutdown caused a long delay, six local service agencies and the Dothan Downtown Redevelopment Authority could receive federal funds soon. The Dothan City Commission could approve the appropriation of Community Development Block Grant funding to the organizations during its Tuesday meeting. Two delays – both on the federal government side – prevented the commission from finalizing subrecipient agreements with the Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity, Hawk-Houston Youth Enrichment Center, Alfred Saliba Family Services, The Exchange Center for Child Abuse Prevention, the Boys and Girls Club of the Wiregrass, the DDRA and Girls, Inc. until now.
