25-year-old found fatally shot in vehicle now identified

Turner is Birmingham's 71th homicide victim this year. Of those 71, five have been ruled justifiable and therefore the Birmingham Police Department does not count them in their year-end tally. In all of Jefferson County, there have been 103, including the Birmingham slayings.

Man wanted on domestic violence charges captured in Birmingham

Mullins is being held on charges of domestic violence by strangulation, three counts of third-degree domestic violence, resisting arrest, and attempting to elude law enforcement. He was transported to the Jefferson County Jail and is being held on a $61,600 bond.

11 dog skulls found at Jefferson County dog fighting site, 1 man arrested

Police investigating homicide in west Birmingham

Around 6 p.m., Birmingham Police officers from the West Precinct responded to a report of shots fired and a vehicle accident in th 1400 block of Pike Road. Once on the scene, officers located the victim inside a vehicle unresponsive, according to Sgt. Johnny Williams.
